General Policies

Non-Sufficient Funds Policy (NSF)

A fee of $60.00 is charged for NSF cheques.  The levy is to be included in the replacement cheque.  Locus Kids requires certified cheques in the event of two NSF cheques in a 10-month period.

Personal Belongings

Locus Kids is not responsible for the supervision of personal belongings. We provide an area in the front of our studio for storage of items during classes, as well as a lost and found basket. All parents and guardians are encouraged to check this basket regularly.

Photographs

Locus Kids takes photographs of the children for display, our website and advertising purposes, subject to each parent’s signed consent.

Illness

Sick children or children with a communicable disease will not be allowed to participate in our programming.

Locus Kids reserves the right to exclude a child who we believe is ill or contagious or to request a physician’s note, as necessary.

Lateness

If there is an emergency and you cannot pick your child(ren) up on time, please notify us as soon as possible.  

Locus Kids charges the following amounts for late pick-ups:

$1.00 per child per minute for the first five minutes past 6:00 p.m. and, $2.00 per child per minute, thereafter.   

These charges are billed on a monthly basis.  Parents are required to sign their child/children out when there is a late pick-up. 

Preschool Policies

Family and Contact Information

It is the family’s responsibility to ensure that we have the most up-to-date contact information (address, phone number(s), email address(es), work information etc.), at all times. In addition, an emergency contact is required for each family’s file. 

Notice of Withdrawal

We require thirty (30) days written notice if you wish to withdraw your child from Locus Kids.  If you do not provide the required notice in writing, within the notice period, you will forfeit your fee for the last month.

Cancellation Policy

After you have agreed to accept a spot for your child, if you choose to cancel or delay your child’s start date without providing the required notice (see above), you are responsible for a one-month enrolment fee.

Income Tax Receipt

Annual Income Tax receipts are provided in February of each year.
