Register for Summer Camp 2024!
Summer camp at Locus Kids is active, fun, and filled with adventure! We spend our mornings engaged in hands-on play experiences and our afternoons are reserved for large group activities and park outings. Locus Kids is open from 8:00am-4:00pm, or 6:00pm for children registered in extended care. Camp is ideal for children 4-8 years old.
Children participate in a combination of indoor and outdoor activities during summer camp. In addition to free play experiences and directed activities inside, we make slime, design buttons, sculpt clay animals, experiment with tie-dye, engage in arts and crafts, and more! In addition to weekly field trips, most of our outdoor experiences consist of visiting local playgrounds, parks, and splash pads.

*The daily rate for summer camp is $60/child with pick up at 4:00pm or $70/child with pick up at 6:00pm. Families are welcome to register for select days during the summer instead of full weeks. To register for select days, email us directly at info@locuskids.ca
Summer Camp Activities
simple Baking projects
Children participate in no-bake baking projects during summer camp as they experience making and enjoying their own treats. Learning about food, counting and measuring ingredients, and actively engaging in food creations are the focus of our hands-on baking projects.
Nature Adventures
Summer camp at Locus Kids involves lots of exploration! Children go on daily walks and hikes through local ravines each morning and utilize their fine and gross motor skills as they navigate the outdoors and explore their environment. Children put their skills to the test as they complete scavenger hunts along the way! Nets, magnifying glasses, and bug collecting kits are provided.
*No bugs are harmed during exploration - all bugs are returned to their ravine home after quick inspection. :)
weekly field trips
Each week, children go on one field trip outing. During field trips, children have the opportunity to engage with their surroundings through a mix of indoor and outdoor play. Children visit places like Riverdale Farm, The Children’s Book Bank, Underpass Park, The Fire Station, and more!
PARKS & WATER PLAY
Children visit local parks each day of camp. While at the park, children play on the playground and engage in group games and activities. The group enjoys water play in the splash pads and wading pools at local parks as well. We also offer opportunities for children to go swimming inside the big pool with staff members while at the park.
Preparing for Summer Camp
While Locus Kids does not separate children by age during camp, we do customize specific activities for different age groups.
Summer camp programming includes field trips and outdoor excursions to local parks, swimming pools, and splash pads (weather permitting). Children and camp counsellors travel to and from field trips and parks in small groups via short TTC rides (bus or streetcar) or by foot.
All children must bring a packed lunch from home each day, as well as a water bottle, hat, sunscreen, bathing suit + towel, and appropriate outdoor shoes.
Morning and afternoon snacks are provided.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations less than 30 days before the start of camp (July 1 for dates in July or August 1 for dates in August) will be subject to a $100 administration fee. If plans change, please cancel in advance to avoid penalties (more than 30 days prior to the first of each month).
Locus Kids does not provide refunds of any kind for absences.

*If you are registering in advance of July and August 2024, payment will not be accepted upon registration. Instead, you will receive an invoice by June 14 for camp dates in July and by July 15 for camp dates in August. Invoices will be due by July 1 for camp dates in July and by August 1 for camp dates in August.
